How to Make Fancy Coffee Drinks without the Fuss

By R.L. Fielding

Simple coffee recipes that will have you whipping up delicious flavored drinks in no time.

Whether it’s a refreshing iced latte or hot Irish coffee, who doesn’t love a fancy coffee drink from time to time? You don’t have to be a professional barista to prepare gourmet coffee beverages at home. Here are some simple yet satisfying coffee drink recipes which can be made by adding a few extra ingredients. Brew them with regular or decaffeinated coffee and, if you’re really in a hurry, save time by brewing your coffee in a single cup coffee maker in less than a minute.

Vanilla Iced Latte

For starters, let’s go with a simple vanilla iced coffee. Brew as many cups of hot coffee you would like and for every 4 cups, add ¼ cup of vanilla extract and ¼ cup of liquid sugar. You can buy liquid sugar in almost any supermarket. If you are trying to watch your sugar intake feel free to use the substitute of your choice. Finally, add a half of a cup of cream, non-fat milk, or any soy or dairy option of your choice, pour over ice and enjoy!

Irish Cream Coffee

Irish Cream liquor is the not-so-secret ingredient in this next after-dinner drink. Simply take a 7 ounce cup of coffee and add 3 ½ ounces of Irish cream of your choice. Stir it up and enjoy. Want the great taste of Irish Cream without the alcohol? Check your local supermarket for Irish cream flavored coffee creamers, as well as other great flavors like hazelnut and French vanilla.

Mocha Coffee

Maybe you have friends that are chocoholics or maybe you are one yourself. If so, this is the beverage for you. Brew one cup of hot coffee and stir in 1 tablespoon of white or brown sugar. Add 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of milk for a rich, chocolaty taste. This makes a wonderful dessert drink.

Now that you’re familiar with these easy-to-prepare coffee classics, feel free to experiment with creating tasty new beverages of your own. Just a couple of minor additions can take your morning coffee from ordinary to extraordinary.
